Blog 12 : Pressure Yourself to Improve - "Publish Your Work"

In future I am only going to write and publish short blog entries.

My reason for the short blog is that they require less concentration when writing editing and reading.I have just spent around sixteen hours writing two letters of complaint (Around 1000 words in each letter) to two companies who have supplied me with faulty goods.

As any dyslexic will tell you we avoid writing like the plague. However with patience, self discipline and drive it can be done. (It does get easier as you get older)

I find it relatively easy to write. The hard work is the editing and making sense of what I have written.

I achieve better results when I type first and edit later after a short break.

To help with reading and editing I often email draft or working documents to myself. I find that I can spot mistakes as my eyes have a different prospective when reading the email format.

If you are writing a Google blog, spell check and then save your work. Read your work in the preview mode.

Another trick that I find useful, is to write in Microsoft Word. When you are happy with the layout and spellchecking, simply cut the text and then paste into your email or blog.
