Blog 14 : Don't let your handwriting get you down ?

Give yourself a positive start.

My handwriting is shocking. If I am asked to write down my phone number or address I get very nervous. I feel exposed no matter how many times I practice I get the spelling wrong or it just looks a mess.

If this happens to you too! Try the following.

Buy yourself some business cards; include your contact details and any other useful information on them. They are no longer expensive, search online for a supplier.

Pre-printed address labels is an alternative effective solution. You can make them up yourself if you have access to a computer and printer.

Face book and my space are ok for contacting friends. However If you wish to present yourself in a professional manner build yourself a website or a blog. (See useful links on this blog for further information)

Give yourself a good first impression, it counts.

Even Gordon Brown was recently ripped apart by the nations press for the state of his handwriting. (You can form your own opinion on this issue). Personally the fact that he takes the time to handwrite letters to bereaved families I feel is exemplary conduct. Especially when you consider how easy it would be for the prime minister to commission a secretary or an official writer to knock something together.

This is my last word on the handwriting issues.

Don’t write cheques. Transfer cash or pay bills electronically, it takes a while to set up and you may need someone to help you or double check the documentation. However once complete you will no longer have to worry about spelling or getting the words the wrong way round.
